Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1925, she met Jiro Yoshihara while studying at Kobayashi Sacred Heart Girls' School and began receiving instruction from him. In 1954, she became a founding member of the Gutai Art Association, which was formed around Yoshihara, and remained a member until its dissolution. She is one of the few members to have remained with the association from its founding until its dissolution. Even after Gutai's dissolution, she joined the Artist Union and continued to create a wide range of works, including three-dimensional works using tinplate, performances, and paintings. Her works are housed in collections such as the Ashiya City Museum of Art and History and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.
