1941年アメリカ生まれ。「スタジオ・ガラス・ムーヴメント」における革新者として、ガラスという媒体を工芸の領域から芸術にまで高めたことで知られる。50 年にわたるキャリアの中で、世界中の歴史的な都市、博物館、庭園での野心的な建築インスタレーションで認知されるようになりり、ガラス、塗料、木炭、ネオン、氷、Polyvitro など、さまざまなメディアを使用して創造的なビジョンを実現している。作品はメトロポリタン美術館やスミソニアン美術館のほか、富山や広島など日本の美術館にも多数収蔵されている。

Born in the United States in 1941, he is known as an innovator in the "Studio Glass Movement," elevating the medium of glass from the realm of craft to the art form. Over his 50-year career, he has become recognized for his ambitious architectural installations in historic cities, museums, and gardens around the world, realizing his creative vision using a variety of media, including glass, paint, charcoal, neon, ice, and Polyvitamin. His works are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Museum, and numerous museums in Japan, including Toyama and Hiroshima.
