1964年フランス生まれ。「変容」「昇華」「変身」をテーマに可変性のある素材を使い制作する、パリを拠点とする。1992年にドクメンタ・カッセルへ出品し、翌年からはガラスを作品に取り入れ始めた。ムラーノやバーゼルの職人たちと共にガラスの可能性を探求し、以来その素材は彼の象徴となる。現在は建築物的なサイズとなり、世界各地の公共のスペースや個人の空間に常設展示されている。自身の作品を通して世界に希望や喜びをもたらし、アートを通して現実を生き抜く方法を提示することを信条としている。

Born in France in 1964, he is based in Paris and works using mutable materials with themes of "transformation," "sublimation," and "metamorphosis." He exhibited at Documenta Kassel in 1992 and began incorporating glass into his work the following year. He explored the possibilities of glass together with artisans in Murano and Basel, and the material has since become his signature. His works are now architectural in size and are permanently exhibited in public and private spaces around the world. He believes in bringing hope and joy to the world through his work and suggesting ways to survive in reality through art.
